Welcome to The Adult Chair!
We are excited that you’re participating in the The Adult Chair podcast! As practitioners whose perspective we respect, we’re thrilled to have you all as featured guests on an upcoming episode. Michelle Chalfant and Pete Wright host the episodes and work hard to provide conversation that is informative, healing, and entertaining.
About The Adult Chair
Michelle Chalfant has been a seeker her whole life. Through her journey of discovery and decades of work as a therapist, she has developed an approach to understanding the struggles we all experience as we move through the world each day. In The Adult Chair, we’ll be using Michelle’s holistic approach to healing and transformation as a foundation for better understanding our relationship with ourselves. Along the way, we’ll host an ongoing conversation around stress, anxiety, depression, physical health, self-love, peace, emotional balance, and how our understanding of ourselves impacts the most important relationships in our lives.
If you’ve never heard the show, we invite you to review our library of past episodes here.
The show is laid back and conversational. We’ll introduce ourselves, the show, and the theme for the episode, and you as our featured guest.
If you have any URLs, resources or other items that you’d like to make available to the audience, please send those along to us prior to the show and we will mention them in the episode. We’ll include the links in the short description for the show.
Interview Runtime: 30-60 minutes
Agenda: The first part of our scheduled time together will be used to ensure sound quality and cover any questions you may have.
We use several tools to record the podcast. Depending on where you are and the unpredictable nature of the Internet, we'll work with the following:
- Cast or Zencastr. These tools allow us to hear one another while recording your local end of the conversation automatically. About a half hour before our call, we'll send you the link to join the recording. There are only a few requirements.
First, at this time you must use Google's Chrome browser. It's available as a free download on Macs and PCs. At this time, iOS is not supported iPhones and iPads are out.
Second, you must have a few minutes available after our interview is over so that the tool can successfully upload your local audio to the cloud.
- Backup: Skype audio call. From time to time, if Cast or Zencastr have difficultly connecting to you due to a firewall or other technical hurdle, we'll switch to Skype. If you don’t have Skype, it’s available as a free download.
Hardware Requirements: A simple USB headset will do perfectly. There are plenty of options out there. Even better, a microphone connected to your computer, with earbuds or headphones. Whatever you're using for a microphone, headphones are critical to prevent audio looping, echo, and other distortion. Please let us know if you have any questions.
We strongly recommend a wired Internet connection for the Skype call. We’ve had issues in the past with audio quality over wifi, and we want you to sound as good as you can possibly sound!
